LOL! I found this on youtube. It’s hilarious - at least to me ;) And I’m more than grateful, that I don’t have a typical German accent.

I love this German TV commerial simply because I love the art of sand paintings. This commercial is about bread and is for a German bread brand. Watch it - it’s beautiful!

Do you wear glasses? - Yes. Then you’re safe. - No. Are you sure you don’t need them?

Brille nötig? = Glasses needed?

die Brille (-n) = glasses

die Sonnenbrille (-n) = sunglasses

(Disclaimer: Only watch it if you have a good sense of humor ;))

Another band, which is very popular here, is called “Beatsteaks”. I’ve already seen them live at a big rock music festival a couple of years ago and they really rocked the place! :D

They sing in English. I hope you don’t care. Listen to this song… and jump around the living room or wherever you are right now ;)

You like Hip Hop music? You want some German hip hop music? Then you should check out “Die Fantastischen Vier” (The Fantastic Four) (very often abbreviated “Fanta Vier”). These guys have been around like… forever…. I would even go as far to say that they’re one of the first popular German hip hop acts.

The video I’ve chosen for you guys is from the song “MfG”… which is also an important abbreviation for you to know. It stands for “Mit freundlichen Grüßen” = Sincerely yours.

Actually the song lyrics is all about abbreviations. Pretty funny idea.

Haven’t recommended German music to you in a while. So today I’m recommending a pop band called “2Raumwohnung” (2 room apartment) from Berlin.

The video is the official clip of one of their songs called “Wir werden sehen” (We’ll see). Enjoy! :)

Yum! “Schupfnudeln mit Sauerkraut”, a yummy vegetarian dish (but you can also add bacon). I cannot translate the word “Schupfnudel” - but it’s a type of noodle-shaped dumpling made out of potatoes/flour/eggs. You fry them in a pan until they’re crispy on the outside. The inside is still soft. :)
They’re served in the South - mostly near the French border and in Bavaria. The traditional Bavarian adds sourkraut!

One of my readers, dashasv, asked me to share this video with you guys. Thank you for bringing me attention to it!

“Blick nach vorn” (Look/View forward) by Max Herre, is a very nice song with a great message: Stay optimistic and fight despite all the doubt, failure and pain that you experience on your own personal journey.

dashasv also wanted to know where the videoclip was shot. I really don’t know. If any of you does, please let us know!

“Friendship” is currently playing at German cinemas and it’s supposed to be very funny. It’s based on the true story of two friends from East Berlin who want to travel to San Francisco right after the wall has fallen. They’re running out of money in New York and so they have to improvise - with hardly any English ;)
