1. Ich hole dich um 8 Uhr ab. = I’ll pick you up at 8.

2. Ich möchte mit dir Essen gehen. = I’d like to eat out with you.

3. Darf ich dich zu einem Drink einladen? = May I buy you a drink?

4. Kann ich deine Telefonnummer haben? = May I have your phone number?

5. Ich würde dich gern näher kennenlernen. = I’d like to get to know you better.

Survival Phrases #8

At the movie theater… / Im Kino:

1. Einmal / Zweimal … (title of the movie)…, bitte! = One / two ticket(s) for.., please

2. Eine Tüte Popcorn, bitte! = A bag of popcorn, please!

3. Gibt es noch Karten für .. (title of the movie)? = Are there any tickets left for…?

4. Ich möchte vorn / in der Mitte / hinten sitzen. = I’d like to sit in the front / middle /back.

5. Mir hat der Film (nicht) gefallen. = I liked (didn’t like) the movie.

At the restaurant…:

1. Ein Bier / Wasser / Glas Wein bitte! = A beer / water / glass of wine, please!

2. Kann ich bitte die Speisekarte haben? = Can I have the menu, please?

3. Ich bin Vegetarier. = I’m a vegetarian.

4. Die Rechnung, bitte! = The cheque, please!

5. Kann ich bar bezahlen? = Can I pay in cash?

6. Nehmen Sie auch Kreditkarten? = Do you take credit cards?
