nothingnesspast asked: Hey, I heard that Germans celebrate Christmas on the 24th of December, rather than the 25th. Is this true? And if so, why?

I don’t know why that is to be honest. But yes, you’re right. German kids get their presents on Christmas Eve - on the 24th - when it’s getting dark outside / after dinner - it depends on the family traditions. When I was a kid, I always got my presents between coffee and cake in the afternoon and dinner, so usually around 5pm. However, both the 25th and the 26th are public holidays in Germany. :)
