Hey, I lived in East Germany for a while and I have been told by friends from the West that I make mistakes with my pronunciation, but I know this is how they spoke in the East. Should I change my pronunciation to a more Western version, or do I have every right to speak like a true Ossi?

Of course not!! There’s nothing shameful about having an East German accent - especially if that’s where you learned German or improved your German. You have every right to speak like a “true Ossi” hehe. ;)
