Hmmm…. I really don’t know how to answer your question to be honest. Relationships in Germany between Germans are certainly not much different from any other relationship. Every relationship is individual and unique and the way it works depends on the people involved. So of course there are some that are very serious and some that aren’t.
Also the financé question: After a marriage proposal you’re each others fiancés until you get married eventually. I suppose it’s the same way in the UK.
