Anonymous asked: What are the main differences between German spoken in Austria and German spoken in Germany?
Love you!

Hey! Austrian is an official standard variety of German. You could probably compare it to British and American English and their differences: e.g. differences in spelling, grammar rules and of course vocabulary (click here for an Austrian-German online dictionary). Here are some examples for Austrian German:

der Erdapfel (AG) = die Kartoffel (G) = potatoe

der Schlagobers (AG) = die Schlagsahne (G) = whipped cream

der Topfen (AG) = der Quark (G) = curd
