German dramas? Oooohh there are a lot of great and important ones! It’s difficult to narrow it down to only a few, but here are some recommendations from different ages:

Lessing - Nathan der Weise; Minna von Barnhelm etc.

Schiller - Die Räuber; Maria Stuart etc.

Goethe - Faust; Iphigenie auf Tauris etc.

Büchner - Woyzeck; Dantons Tod etc.

Hebbel - Maria Magdalena

Brecht - Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder; Die Dreigroschenoper etc.

Dürrenmatt - Der Besuch der alten Dame; Die Physiker etc.
