(Why is your blog called GermanHeit? What does “heit” mean?)
Thought #1 I had when coming up with the name:
The German suffix <-heit> turns adjectives into nouns, like e.g. <-ness> does it in the English language. German is an adjective and by adding <-heit> I’m turning it into something like “Germanness” (which doesn’t exist of course).
Thought #2:
When you pronounce GermanHeit it may remind you of highschool names like e.g. Beverly High. And since GermanHeit is a platform for people who are interested in learning something about the German language and culture, I figured it would be kinda cool.
