“Knecht Ruprecht”… o.O.
He’s basically St.Nikolaus’ utility man. He has to accompany him, carrying the gifts in a bag so that St.Nikolaus doesn’t get a backpain. And if Nikolaus reads something about bad behavior in his golden book, Knecht Ruprecht is the one who’ll punish you. That’s why he carries a birch on his belt. Can you imagine me in kindergarten when Nikolaus and Knecht Ruprecht visited and the friendly bearded man started reading about my behavior in his golden book? Yep. Poor Babsi. But don’t worry. It’s forbidden to birch children ;)
