“Kaffee und Kuchen” or “Kaffeetrinken” is a very popular German afternoon tradition. Usually coffee and a piece or two of cake or tart are served around 3-4pm.
Nowadays, due to less time on work days, this tradition is mostly celebrated on Sundays - especially when having guests.
