Das ist ein Osterbrunnen in der fränkischen Schweiz (Franconian Switzerland)
Decorated wells around the Easter holidays are very common in the region of Franconia in the South of Germany. This custom is only about 100 years old but feels much older. I’m surprised this part of my culture is so young. Within the last years, the Franconian tradition of “Osterbrunnen” (Ostern = Easter, der Brunnen = well) has started to spread over other German regions, too.
