The German imperative of reflexive verbs
posted 1 year ago
Do you remember reflexive verbs? In English they require a reflexive pronoun -self, e.g. myself, yourself etc. In German the reflexive pronouns are mich, dich, sich, uns, euch etc. as in: sich verlieben -> Ich verliebe mich. (I fall in love) or sich kennen -> Wir kennen uns gut. (We know each other well).
In the imperative form you simply have to put the reflexive pronoun at the end of the command.
e.g.
Setz dich! -> Sit down!
Wascht euch! -> Wash yourselves!
