Did you know that “The Neverending Story” - Die Unendliche Geschichte - was written by a very popular German children’s book author called Michael Ende?
It was one of my favourite books when I was a kid. And I have wanted to read it again for a long time, because the story is so detailed, intense and beautiful. Much better than the movies or let’s say - the first movie from 1984 (which is the only one that at least tries to follow the original storyline)! So what is what in the original German book?
- Fantastica / Fantasia = Phantásien
- The Childlike Empress = die Kindliche Kaiserin
- Moonchild = Mondenkind
- Falkor = Fuchur
- luckdragon = der Glücksdrache
- Ivory Tower = der Elfenbeinturm
- Night Hob = der Nachtalb
- The Nothing = das Nichts
- Rockbiter = Felsenbeißer
- The Southern Oracle = Das Südliche Orakel
